Revocation of Your Consent to Data Processing
Some data processing operations are only possible with your express consent. You can revoke your consent at any time. An informal notification by email is sufficient for revocation. The legality of the data processing carried out until the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.
Right to Lodge a Complaint with the Competent Supervisory Authority As a data subject, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority in the event of a data protection breach. The competent supervisory authority for data protection matters is the State Data Protection Commissioner of the federal state in which our company is based. The following link provides a list of data protection officers and their contact details: https://www.bfdi.bund.de/DE/Infothek/Anschriften_Links/anschriften_links-node.html.
Right to data portability
You have the right to receive the data that we process automatically based on your consent or in fulfillment of a contract, either for yourself or to have it transferred to a third party. The data will be provided in a machine-readable format. If you request the direct transfer of the data to another controller, this will only be done if technically feasible.
Right to information, rectification, restriction of processing, and erasure You have the right, at any time and within the framework of applicable legal provisions, to obtain information free of charge about your stored personal data, its origin, the recipients of the data, and the purpose of the data processing, and, if applicable, a right to rectification, restriction of processing, or erasure of this data. For this purpose, and for any further questions regarding personal data, you can contact us at any time using the contact details provided in the legal notice.
SSL/TLS encryption
For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content that you send to us as the website operator, our website uses SSL/TLS encryption. This means that data you transmit via this website cannot be read by third parties. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the "https://" in your browser's address bar and the padlock icon.
Server Log Files
The website's server automatically collects and stores information that your browser transmits to us in log files. This includes:
Your IP address and, if applicable, the associated hostname
The address (URL) of the request to our domain
The referrer URL (address of the page from which the request originated)
Your browser and operating system version
The date and time of the request
This data is technically necessary for us to display our website to you and to ensure its stability and security. (The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.) This data is not merged with other data sources.
Data Transfer During Contract Conclusion for the Purchase and Shipping of Goods
If you wish to place an order in our online shop, you must provide your personal data, which we require to process your order. Personal data will only be transferred to third parties if necessary for the execution of the contract. Third parties may include, for example, payment service providers or logistics companies. Further data transfer will not take place, or only if you have expressly consented to it.
The legal basis for data processing is Article 6 Paragraph 1 Letter b GDPR, which permits the processing of data for the performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures.
Registration on this Website To use certain functions, you can register on our website. The data transmitted is used exclusively for the purpose of using the respective offer or service. Mandatory information requested during registration must be provided in full. Otherwise, we will reject the registration.
In the event of important changes, such as for technical reasons, we will inform you by email. The email will be sent to the address provided during registration.
The processing of the data entered during registration is based on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). You may withdraw your consent at any time. An informal notification by email is sufficient for withdrawal. The lawfulness of the data processing already carried out remains unaffected by the withdrawal.
We store the data collected during registration for the duration of your registration on our website. Your data will be deleted if you cancel your registration. Statutory retention periods remain unaffected.
Contact Form
Data submitted via the contact form, including your contact details, will be stored in order to process your request and to be available for follow-up questions. This data will not be shared without your consent.
Depending on the nature of the request, the legal basis for this processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR for requests you submit yourself as part of a pre-contractual measure, or Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR if your request is of a different nature. If we request personal data that we do not require for the performance of a contract or to protect our legitimate interests, its transfer to us is based on your consent pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR. This consent can be withdrawn at any time.
Data transmitted via the contact form will remain with us until you request its deletion, withdraw your consent to its storage, or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies. Mandatory legal provisions – in particular, retention periods – remain unaffected.
Cookies
Our website uses a session cookie. These are small text files that your web browser stores on your device to enable the online shop functionality of our website.
This cookie is automatically deleted after you close your browser or after 30 minutes of inactivity.
With a modern web browser, you can monitor, restrict, or block the setting of cookies. However, completely disabling cookies will result in the loss of functionality in our online shop.
The setting of cookies that are necessary for carrying out electronic communication processes or providing certain functions you have requested (e.g., shopping cart) is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. As the operator of this website, we have a legitimate interest in storing cookies to ensure the technically flawless and smooth provision of our services. If other cookies are set (e.g., for analytics), these are addressed separately in this privacy policy.
PayPal
Our website allows payment via PayPal. The payment service provider is PayPal (Europe) S.à.r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., 22-24 Boulevard Royal, L-2449 Luxembourg.
When you pay with PayPal, the payment details you enter are transmitted to PayPal.
The transmission of your data to PayPal is based on Article 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent) and Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (processing necessary for the performance of a contract). You can withdraw your consent at any time. Data processing operations that have already taken place remain valid even after withdrawal of consent.
So much for the seemingly necessary boilerplate text. Now for...
Plain speaking:
Normally, nobody reads this text anyway, but we want you to truly understand how we handle your data!
It's bad enough how the internet could have developed in such a way that, in the background of seemingly every website, an automated data-collecting monster is exploiting the consumption habits of its visitors. A blanket privacy policy makes this practice legal, but it's still outrageous.
Cookies:
Perhaps someone noticed that you didn't have to click away an annoying cookie banner on our site. Since we've already been pointed out, with the best of intentions, that we're not operating this shop in compliance with the GDPR, we'd like to clarify that virtually every website would function perfectly well with only a single session cookie at most. Most of the time, even non-deselectable "functional cookies" are superfluous (for a purely informational website, the necessity is simply a lie).
A website that greets you with cookie banners inevitably collects data and sends it to data brokers, even if the actual operators haven't necessarily set it up that way intentionally. Most platforms are so complex, opaque, and riddled with dependencies that many prefer to keep the default cookie disclaimer enabled, just to be on the safe side, rather than risk breaking the law. The result of this development is that hardly anyone gets to choose how their browsing behavior is handled anymore. What was imposed on us as optional, clumsily implemented self-determination has, unsurprisingly, proven to be counterproductive.
That's why we're doing something truly revolutionary here: simply doing away with all of that. The framework for this website is a manageable open-source project called OpenCart, but even that required some initial tweaking to function without cookies and external dependencies. All communication takes place solely between you and our server, except when you use PayPal for payment and are redirected to the PayPal website during checkout (which, of course, is beyond our control). There is no cookie disclaimer because we don't use cookies.
We naturally require your personal data, such as your address and email address, to process your order. However, this information is very secure within our two-person operation and will under no circumstances be used for any other purpose! If you have any further questions, we are happy to help. Please use our contact form or send an email to mail@ataoclypse.de
